Mushu Review

Mushu is a relatively new oriental tapas restaurant, located on Warren Street.

I work a few streets away so often passed the place on my way to and from the station, always thinking “I must try that place out” and last night I finally kept that promise!

The place has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff are friendly and welcoming, So we were off to a good start!
I went in at 6pm and the place had a few people in it but was not overly crowded, so not a place that you need to worry about booking in advance.

We had ‘izakaya’ or oriental tapas, which is offered alongside a range of beers, sakes and wines. The decor is light and modern in style, which seems quite fitting for the restaurant’s chilled out atmosphere. What I I liked was the open plan kitchen, so that you could see the chefs at work and know your food was guaranteed to come out fresh.

Between two people we had:
Spicy Beef & Kimchi Water Dumpling (6 dumplings)
Lions head meatballs Slow cooked juicy pork meatballs, Shanghai style
Salmon Nigiri (2 pieces)
California Maki and Salmon and Avocado Inside out Roll (12 pieces in total)
Salmon and Avocado Handroll

The menu is quite varied, ranging from sushi and sashimi, dumplings (water dumpling and crispy), noodle dishes, rice dishes as well as meat, vegetarian and fish plates.
