Road(house) to disaster!

I had never eaten at Roadhouse before, the typical American menu seemed decent enough for a casual meet up with friends, however we were really just tempted by the 2for1 cocktails and beer at happy hour! The website seemed edgy and fun but when we got to the place we found it to be more like TGI’s with more music..

The menu seems very overpriced for what you get, although if you have a tastecard you can get 50% off.
The staff were friendly and helpful although when we first got in we were asked for our ID from the security (quite flattering I guess?!) before being allowed to speak to the front of house!

We decided to get starters as the “small bites for sharing” were 3 for £10 and 5 for £15…be warned when they say small, they mean miniscule.

The main menu was typical american and I shared a surf and turf plate with my friend, although not the usual surf and turf but stringy steak and bland chicken. We did see some fajitas go past, which smelt and looked great so were probably a much better option.

A word of advice, don’t bother eating here if you are wanting a really decent meal, although the food was not unpleasant it wasn’t worth a trip out for. The cocktails were average – contained a lot of ice, so got very watered down. If you are lining your stomach before a night may be appropriate, but Roadhouse is definitely better for drinks than food. Definitely worth it for the late night bar, but wouldn’t eat here again.
