OttoLenghi Islington Review
I recently went for lunch with a friend to OttoLenghi’s in Highbury & Islington.
We opted for the lunch menu where you can choose a main course and salad (two salads and a main are £13.70 nd three salads and a main are £16.20)
Salads consisted of things such as:
roasted aubergine with chilli yoghurt, crushed mixed nuts, mint, parsley and za’atar
Chargilled broccoli with garlic and chilli
Roasted butternut squash with grilled sweetcorn, feta, pumplin seeds, chilli and herbs
Roasted mixed peppers with yoghurt, green harissa oil and herbs
Buckwheat, red rice, basmati rice with cranberries, mied nuts, roast onion, lemon and hoummous
and red and yellow beetroot with labneh, pistachio, sherry vinegar dressing and herbs
…there were also some more choices that sounded amazing, cauliflower with hazelnuts, celery and pomegranate seeds…the list was endless
For mains, I opted for the English fillet of beef with sour cream, grain mustard, horseradish and rocket salad.
It was hard to choose between this and the other options on the menu that sounded so lavish and written onto the menu with pure love! I nearly opted for charfrilled salmon with artichoke, lemon, pink peppercorn and parsley sauce but the thought of line-caught seared tuna wrapped in nori and pnki with wasabi cream also sounded tempting..in fact everything on the menu did. It was all written so perfectly, I felt I was reading some sort of food porn, salivating at pretty much all the dishes on the menu!
This place is definitely worth a visit, even if it is to drop in for one of the delicious cakes that adorn the front window. I was surprised to see that it wasn’t a vegetarian restaurant (but very glad) and will most certainly be going again!
