Melt Room Soho Review

As a self confessed cheese lover, the longest I have gone without cheese of some kind is one day…and that was hard! So when I heard about a new grilled cheese sandwich shop, I just had to go and try it out.

Melt room is situated on Noel Street, in the heart of Soho, the perfect place to catch thousands of workers at lunchtime in need of some comfort food…and who can resist a good grilled cheese sarnie? With cheesy music playing inside to accompany the grilled goodness and a strategic fan blowing that bloody awesome smell of grilled cheese into the street, this place sure knows what it is doing.

Yes, grilled cheese sandwiches may be the only thing on the menu…but have you ever had a grilled Swiss cheese sandwich with slow roasted lamb shoulder and mustard dressed greens(£7)? Didn’t think so. This is not your average cheese, we are talking gourmet here.

There is something for everyone from the vegetarian roast beetroot, hummus, broad beans feta and rocket (£4.50) to the pastrami with porcini mushrooms, horseradish and red Leicestershire(£7)…trust me that one is a must try!

Melt room even has some breakfast options, served until 10.30am, the highland bagel (£5.50) is a toasted spelt bagel filled with london cure smoked salmon and philly cream cheese or an indulgent Benedict Melt (£6) which contains York ham, scrambled egg, vintage cheddar and hollandaise sauce.

The Nutella and mascarpone melt (£3.50) in milk bread is a delicious treat for those with a sweet tooth and is perfect for a late afternoon snack or whenever you have the munchies.
